An apparatus and a method for providing a wire/wireless Internet call service are provided to supply a simple voice or video call service through a messenger by using a mobile terminal, thereby reducing fees and providing mobility on communication. A communication unit(220) transceives data by performing connection with an Internet network through wire or wireless communication. A messenger unit(250) determines login of a registered subscriber and displays the determination result. The messenger unit provides a service for a voice or video call with a selected subscriber according to a control signal. A multimedia unit(230) processes multimedia data such as voice or video when performing the voice or video call service in a messenger program. A key input unit(280) includes a shortcut function for outputting a control signal for usage of the voice or video call service of the messenger program. Through the key input unit, a command is inputted.
