PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a threshing apparatus for a combine harvester, enabling efficient carrying out of a combine-harvesting work, without causing waste straw cloggings, even in a harvesting work for varieties producing a large quantity of waste straw or in their growing environment. SOLUTION: The threshing apparatus for a combine harvester comprises a threshing section 2 that functions to thresh rearwardly conveyed reaped grain culms by a threshing cylinder 3; an exhaust dust treatment section 18 that functions to rearwardly convey a threshed product, while shredding it, after receiving it, by the shredding teeth 20 of an exhaust dust treatment cylinder 19 in parallel with the threshing cylinder 3; and a second tailings treatment section 25 that functions to treat the so-called "second tailings" that run through a winnower 9, after being subjected to the treatment teeth 28 of a second tailings treatment cylinder 26, integrated with the exhaust dust treatment cylinder 19. In this threshing apparatus, the exhaust dust treatment cylinder 19 has a constitution, wherein the diameter is equal to that of the second tailings treatment cylinder 26, and a treatment member 20 is arranged in a spiral form, where the outer diameter of the treatment member 20 is larger than that of the treatment teeth 28 of the second tailings treatment cylinder 26.
