The method involves conveying a mass i.e. silicon rubber, in form of a strand, and determining a length of the mass to be cut, using an angular momentum generator, where the length is checked again and again. The mass is cut with a cutting device, which is regulated in such a manner that the cutting device is moved synchronously to the mass in a conveying direction during cutting of the mass, where the cut mass is weighted. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for continuously cutting of masses with plastic consistency (2) a cutting device comprising a frame.
