<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of lowering the height of a motor side joint portion and a unit side joint portion without degrading assemblability. <P>SOLUTION: The column-assist type electric power steering device is provided with a steering column 3 with a steering shaft 2 transmitting steering torque mounted therein, and an electric motor 5 transmitting steering assist force to the steering shaft 2 through a speed reduction mechanism in a speed reduction gearbox 4. The electric motor 5 and a control unit 19 including a control board mounted with a control circuit driving and controlling the motor are juxtaposedly provided in the gearbox 4. Motor side joint parts 5c, 5d provided at the electric motor 5, and unit side joint parts 33a, 33b face-contactable with the motor side joint parts 5c, 5d provided at the control unit side are tiltedly disposed against the axial direction of the electric motor, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
