PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a passage monitoring system capable of reliably monitoring the illegal invasion of a non-permitted person into an entry restriction area by eliminating the dead zone of a monitoring camera without using the plurality of monitoring cameras. SOLUTION: The camera 1 for photographing a moving picture is arranged on a wall above a door 10. The camera 1 photographs a region close to an entrance from a first direction indicated with arrow V1. A mirror 11 is fixed by prescribed angle to the prescribed place of a ceiling, and arranged to be included in the photographing field angle of the camera 1. When viewing from the arrangement position of the camera 1, a scene in the region close to the entrance, viewing from a second direction indicated with arrow V2, is reflected on the mirror 11. the number of persons passing through the entrance, i.e., whether one or a plurality of persons, is determined based on image data photographed by the camera 1.
