PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To widen the use of a Ti-containing oxide as a functional material by hydrophobizing the surface of the Ti-containing oxide. SOLUTION: Provided is a water-repellent material comprising a substrate and a water-repellent layer formed on the surface of the substrate, wherein the substrate contains a Ti-containing oxide, and the water-repellent layer contains an organic polymer.
