PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an embroidery sewing machine, shortening the amount of time elapsed from the end of sewing until an embroidery frame is moved by raising a cloth presser to a retreat position and simultaneously moving all zigzag guide members along with it to the retreat position in the case of moving the embroidery frame after the end of sewing. SOLUTION: The cloth presser is provided with an engagement claw, a vertical moving member is provided with a locking part projecting in a state of penetrating an elongated hole toward the cloth presser side to be engaged with the locking claw, the zigzag guide members are stopped to the vertical moving member, the cloth presser is turned by utilizing a directing turning mechanism to move the engagement claw to a position of overlapping the locking part in the vertical direction, at the overlapping position, the cloth presser is raised to the retreat position by a cloth presser elevating mechanism to produce a space for moving the embroidery frame below the cloth presser, and simultaneously engage the engagement claw with the locking part, and the zigzag guide members are raised along with the cloth presser through the vertical moving member to produce a space below the zigzag guide members.
