PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developable photosensitive material which can be rapidly heat-developed with a small low-cost heat developing apparatus while substantially avoiding the internal contamination of the heat developing apparatus and film scratching, and which is excellent in transportability at low humidity, density variation due to humidity change, and image density. SOLUTION: The heat developable photosensitive material has a photosensitive layer containing silver halide grains, an organic silver salt, a reducing agent and a binder on one surface of a support and a back coat layer on the other surface of the support, wherein the photosensitive layer has a dry film thickness of 9-16μm; the outermost surface on the back coat layer side has a center line average roughness (Ra) of 100-150 nm, and the back coat layer contains a lubricant having a molecular weight of 550-10,000.
