Stator winding current switching device for e.g. generator-electric motor-combination, has coil switching units, where time duration of additional impulse-like voltages is smaller than time duration of impulse-like voltages of working cycle

The device has switching units provided for switching on and off coils of a stator winding, where the coils are connected with a common voltage supply. A control unit switches on and off the coils, so that impulse-like voltages are adjusted at the coils. The switching units are controllably switched such that the switching units are additionally switched on and off during activation and disconnection of a neighbor coil to produce additional impulse-like voltages at the coil. The time duration of the additional voltages is smaller than the time duration of the voltages of a working cycle. An independent claim is also included for a method of switching of currents in a stator winding of an electrical machine.
