A multimedia player having a song/accompaniment switching function is provided to play accompaniment files synchronized with currently played sections of song files and to play song files synchronized with currently played sections of accompaniment files, thereby enabling the synchronized toggle between the song/accompaniment sound sources without additional operation. A multimedia player comprises a sound source storage part(120), a sound source play part(150), and a song/accompaniment switching part(110). The sound source storage part stores song files(130) including voice of a singer and accompaniment, and accompaniment files(140) including only the same accompaniment as the song files. The sound source play part plays one of the song files and accompaniment files. The song/accompaniment switching part controls the accompaniment files to be played for the same play time as the song files based on a song/accompaniment switching command of the user, and controls the song files to be played for the same play time as the accompaniment files based on a song/accompaniment switching command of the user. The song/accompaniment switching part controls the sound source play part to play the accompaniment files stored in a song file tag information field.
