PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cathode for use in producing electrolytic copper, which shows an adequately suspended state when suspended in an electrolytic tank and can be easily adjusted into the adequately suspended state by hands even when needing to be adjusted. SOLUTION: The cathode for use in producing electrolytic copper comprises: a starting plate 1 which becomes a face to be electrodeposited thereon; a cathode beam 3 having a rectangular cross section; and a hanger 2 which connects the starting plate 1 with the cathode beam 3. The hanger 2 has a curved thin-sheet shape, has both end fixed on the end edges of the both sides of the starting plate 1, makes the cathode beam 3 penetrated in the inside, and contacts only with two edge lines 3a and 3b on the upper side of the cathode beam 3 when the cathode is suspended.
