PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve joining property of a slider to a suspension by further reducing adverse physical effects on a pad more during manufacturing. SOLUTION: A slider 24 is provided with: at least one of read elements for reading magnetic data recorded in a reading medium and a recording element for writing the magnetic data to the recording medium; and a pad surface 57 which intersects a surface facing the recording medium and is equipped with a metal pad 27.
