PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for decorating a woody substrate capable of providing such textures as cubic effect and feeling of irregularity on the surface of a woody substrate, and a decorated woody substrate obtained thereby. SOLUTION: The method for decorating the woody substrate comprises coating the woody substrate 1 with a curable main agent 2, ink-jetting a curing agent 3 as approximately ball-like liquid droplets on the coating main agent 2 from an inkjet nozzle 5 so as to form a picture pattern before the main agent 2 is absorbed in the woody substrate 1, and curing the main agent 2 with the curing agent 3 to form an uneven pattern on the surface.
