<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tag reader capable of determining existence of an unrecognized tag in the case of recognizing a tag by using a reader/writer. <P>SOLUTION: A tag is attached to each of articles to be placed on a pallet, and a tag storing the number of the articles to be placed as information is attached to the pallet on which the articles are placed.
