PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus for improving user convenience about handling of image data with information of photographing date or the like written (or to be written). SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is provided with an imaging element (3) for imaging an image, a control part (9) for generating an image file by adding attribute information to the imaged image data, and a data storing part (15 and 200) for storing the generated image file. The control part (9) reads the attribute information (photographing date, age, or the like) and the image data from the image file stored in the data storing part (15 and 200), writes the read attribute information at a predetermined position of the read image data and generates an image file from the image data with the attribute information written.
