PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface treatment apparatus which can narrow the installation area and compactify the apparatus itself, can achieve a surface treatment of high quality, and can also shorten the period of time for taking the treatment liquid out from and charging the treatment liquid into a treatment tank. SOLUTION: This surface treatment apparatus comprises: the treatment tank 10; a basket-holding means 11 for holding a basket 6 in the treatment tank 10; a rotation-driving part 12 for rotating the basket-holding means 11; a control tank 13 for the treatment liquid, which projects out to the side in the bottom of the treatment tank 10; and a treatment-liquid-feeding means 46 which communicates the treatment tank 10 with the control tank 13. The treatment-liquid-feeding means 46 includes a pump 48 for supplying the treatment liquid to the control tank 10, and a retrieving pipe for returning the treatment liquid back to the control tank 13.
