The retrofitting part has inner surfaces corresponding to exterior surfaces of a rotor blade tip and lying in an areawise manner at the exterior surfaces in a fixed condition at the blade point. The retrofitting part is designed and adapted to the blade tip such that the part is later fixable at the blade tip, in particular is slided on the blade tip, where the part partially covers the blade tip. A cap-type base plate is slided on the blade point. A component i.e. winglet, is provided for improving aerodynamic characteristics of a rotor blade.
