The method involves connecting a plastic panel (3) i.e. back window, of a motor vehicle i.e. Cabriolet vehicle (1), with a hood covering (6) by a beam-hardening adhesive system in an edge area (4). The hardening adhesive system is formed as a dual hardening adhesive system in an acrylate base, where the adhesive system is laid on the panel or the hood covering. The panel and the hood covering are joined after laying the adhesive system, and the adhesive system is irradiated during prehardening. An independent claim is also included for a folding top of a Cabriolet vehicle with a panel.
