Provided is a packet communication method comprising the step for a mobile station to send a random access request to a radio base station through a random access channel, the step for the radio base station to assign packet access request sending radio resources for the mobile station to send a packet access request, from radio resources assigned to an upstream common channel, the step for the radio base station to send such a random access response to the mobile station as to inform that the random access request has been received through at least either a downstream common control channel or a downstream common data channel corresponding to the random access channel, and the step for the mobile station to send the packet access request for requesting the start of the packet communication, through the upstream common channel notified by the random access response. |
