A blender system composed of a mixing base (100) for agitating the contents of a container and includes a recessed well (300) at a to of the mixing base (100), a pressure-actuated switch (302), and a locking groove (304) A container includes a body (401), a removable container base (402) that fits into the recessed well (300) and comprising an agitator and a means for locking the container within the recessed well (300) of the mixing base (100). The container body (401 ) includes a substantially smooth extension (405) between an attachment element (404) and the open end of the container body (401) to facilitate drinking or pouring the contents of the container body (401). The container body (401) includes a standing element (406) that allows the container body (401) to stand on a horizontal surface. The container may be equipped with a lid (400) to seal, shake, or strain the contents.
