PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker capable of accelerating gelatinization without drying boiled rice by supplying high temperature steam into a pot and moreover without forcing extra work upon a user. SOLUTION: The rice cooker includes a body 1 opened at the upper face; the pot 2 detachably enclosed in the body 1; a lid 3 for covering the body 1 in an openable/closable manner; a pot heating means 4 heating the pot 2; a steam line 54 for taking in, from one end, steam generated in cooking rice in the pot 2 and supplying the steam into the pot 2 from the other end; a heater 55 heating the steam in the steam line 54; and a fan 56 for generating the flow of the steam in the steam line 54.
