PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the amount of information to be distributed and to improve the reliability of information distribution. SOLUTION: A traffic information distribution device 1 adds date information (identification information) to traffic information acquired by a traffic information acquisition part 12 or generated by a traffic information prediction part 13 and stores the traffic information into a traffic information DB 13. When receiving distribution request information from an in-vehicle terminal device thereafter, the traffic information distribution device 1 reads out traffic information having the same date information as reference traffic information held in an on-vehicle terminal device 5, which is included in the distribution request information, from the traffic information DB 13 on the basis of date information of the reference traffic information. Then the traffic information distribution device generates difference traffic information between the read-out traffic information, namely, the reference traffic information held in the on-vehicle terminal device 5, and traffic information scheduled to be distributed at this time, by a difference traffic information generation part 18 and distributes the generated difference traffic information to the in-vehicle terminal device 5 as response information to the distribution request information.
