PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system, an operation control method, a node device and a node processing program for reducing a load on a server, and for improving energy saving in the node device. SOLUTION: This node device of a communication system in which each of a plurality of node devices communicating with each other through a network, and storing content data is configured to acquire content data which are not stored in the own device from another node device in operation and a server device which provides the content data is provided with: a server load acquisition means for acquiring server load to be imposed on the server device for providing the content data; an operation stop determining means for determining the operation stop instruction; a reference value determining means for determining whether or not the server load is a preliminarily set reference value or more when it is determined that the operation stop instruction exists; and an operation stop means for stopping the operation of the own device when determined that the server load is not more than the reference value.
