A structure for constructing a post of a traffic sign is provided to prevent ribs of the post from exposing out of the ground by situating the ribs in a post hole and covering the rib with a cover. A structure for constructing a post(10) of a traffic sign comprises a post hole(2) and a cover(20). The post is fixed to a base plate(12) by a plurality of anchors(11). A plurality of ribs(13) are attached to the bottom periphery of the post, supported by the base plate. The post hole is formed in the ground such that the ribs of the post are located lower than the ground. The cover includes lateral walls(22) and an upper plate(21). The lateral walls are mounted on the base plate and supported by walls of the post hole. The upper plate is mounted on the lateral walls and is on a level with the ground around the post, thereby covering the ribs of the post. The upper plate includes a pair of upper plate segments. Each upper plate segments has a semicircular groove for the post and a mount stepped part at the edge lower surface. The mount stepped part is mounted on the upper part of the lateral wall. The upper plate segment is fixed to the lateral wall by fastening fasteners(23) to angles(24) of the lateral wall. |
