<p>A piston of an internal combustion engine is provided in the application, it particularly relates to a piston of an internal combustion engine made of carbon and the combination of the carbon piston and the cylinder made of various materials. The piston has a piston crown(1), a top land(2) axially adjoining the piston crown, a ring portion(3) and a piston skirt(4) in which boss bores(5) for receiving a piston pin are provided, bosses(51) are oppositely provided each other on the inside of the piston skirt(42) to form the boss bores(5) and extend smoothly into the underside(12) of the piston crown with a rounded configuration, and a dome surface(12) is formed between the bosses(51) of the underside of the piston crown and extends into the bosses at least in the upper region of the boss bores(5), the carbon base material is permeated with a light metal or a light alloy.</p> |
