The invention relates to the field of medicine and in particular to the u se of alkaline phosphatase in the treatment of renal diseases, such as reduc ed renal function. The present invention also relates to the field of pharma cy and in particular to the pharmaceutical use of alkaline phosphatase. The present invention provides an alternative treatment to improve a situation i n which the renal function is reduced by using alkaline phosphatase.
