<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lithium-ion secondary battery having a large capacity and capable of maintaining the capacity for a long period of time, and its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: An electrode assembly is prepared with a positive electrode having a carbon material of 30 to 500 m<SP>2</SP>/g as a specific surface area and of 0.35 to 0.38 nm interlayer distance in a d002 plane, a negative electrode, and an electrolyte having at least a lithium compound as a solute.
