PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for efficiently manufacturing a tubular part including an insert made of a metal matrix composite, which is efficient, and whose performance on an industrial scale is simple. SOLUTION: The invention relates to a process for manufacturing a tubular part, which includes an insert made of a metal matrix composite and in which ceramic fibers extend. The process comprises the following steps: -the filaments of a filament bundle are fixed close to one end of a support part, the filaments being separate from one another and each filament comprising a ceramic fiber coated with a metal sheath; and -all the filaments of the bundle are wound around the support part along a helical path.
