PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side ditch block with a drainage device the upper corner portion of which can be hardly broken even if a heavy vehicle passes right above a transverse groove protrusively formed on the upside outer surface of the side ditch block. SOLUTION: The almost horizontal transverse groove 3 is protrusively formed on the upside outer surface of the side ditch block 1. A drainage hole 4 which makes the transverse groove 3 and an inside flowing water passage 2 of the side ditch block 1 communicate with each other is formed in a prescribed position. A permeable pipe 5 is inserted along the inside of the transverse groove 3. An inclined plane 1b1 which is inclined to the side of the central portion of the side ditch block 1 is formed toward the upper surface 1a of the side ditch block 1 from the opening-side upper end 3a of the transverse groove 3 which is protrusively formed on the upside outer surface of the side ditch block 1.
