PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a herbicide for a paddy field suitable for particularly killing Echinochloa oryzicola Vasing, which is a weed of the genus Echinochloa of the family Gramineae and killing even a wide range of weeds in the paddy field such as weeds of the family Cyperaceae such as Scirpus hotarui, Cyperus difformis L. or Cyperus serotinus Rottb. , weeds of the family Pontederiaceae such as Monochoria vaginalis Presl and weeds of the family Alismataceae such as Sagittaria pygmacea Miq. belonging to broad-leaved weeds. SOLUTION: The herbicide for the paddy field comprises at least one or more compounds selected from the group consisting of a herbicidal triazolinone compound (V) represented by general formula (1) [wherein, X and Y may mutually be the same or different and represent each a halogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower haloalkyl group, a lower alkoxy group or a lower haloalkoxy group; and n and m represent each independently 0 or an integer of 1-5], a herbicidal compound group (W): pyriftalid as an ALS inhibitor, pyrimisulfan, orthosulfamuron or pyribenzoxim as the ALS inhibitor, mesotrione as a 4-HPPD inhibitor, pyraclonil or oxadiargyl as a PPO inhibitor and metamifop as an ACCase inhibitor as an active ingredient.
