PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably feed a paper sheet without occurrence of overlap feeding even when a roller component is deteriorated by the elapse of time and different kinds of paper sheets are set for each of trays. SOLUTION: The paper feeding device equipped with an FRR paper feeding type separation paper feeding means having a feed roller rotated and driven in the direction to feed the paper sheet and a reverse roller brought into pressure contact with the feed roller at least in feeding of the paper sheet and rotated and driven in the direction to return the paper sheet through a torque limiter, and feeding a bundle of the paper sheets from the uppermost paper sheet one by one, and returning the second and succeeding paper sheets has a transmission mechanism where the feed roller and the reverse roller can be independently rotated and driven.
