[Class 78 (i).] An appliance for moving bottles &c. over a bed C comprises an L-shaped member A having a vertical face B, which has a motion similar to that of a coupling rod of a locomotive, and a series of adjustably mounted plates H. The member A is connected by links D to arms E fixed on a shaft F which is splined at f to receive a key f<1> on a crank arm f<2>. The connecting-rod f<3>, which connects the crank f<2> to. an eccentric f<4>, crank or cam on a driving shaft G, is telescopic and provided with a spring which yields when the compartments B come into contact with the bottles and press them against the plates H. The shaft F is moved endwise through the arm f<2> by an eccentric e<6>, the movement of which is communicated through a connecting-rod e<5>, a double knuckle joint e<4>, a bellcrank lever e and a link e<1> to a lug e2 which is rotatably mounted on the shaft F between collars e3. |
