The filter has an ionization part (10) including spray electrodes (6, 7) that sets a field between itself and different polarized tube parts (1-3) in an operating condition. A voltage source produces an electrical high voltage for the ionization part and filter parts, where the voltage source is a thermal generator, which uses warmth of flue gas for its operation in the operating condition. An electronic controller separately regulates electrostatic charge of the ionization part and the filter part in the operating condition. An independent claim is also included for a method for fine particle precipitation with an electrostatic fine particle filter.
