PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus whose shock resistance is ensured and which facilitates assembling work. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus according to the present invention comprises an image processing unit which processes photodetected optical information, an optical unit which guides light to the image processing unit, a case which has a prismatic cavity inside and holds the image processing unit and optical unit therein, and a shield case which electromagnetically shield the case. The shield case has a top-surface portion with an opening portion for introducing light into the optical unit formed therein, and a flank portion raised from the end of the top-surface portion, the flank portion having a plurality of contact portions where respective corner portions of the flank of the case are pressed and held with elastic force of the shield case and arcuate portions which are formed between adjacent contact portions to form a gap between the flank of the case and the flank of the shield case.
