PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector with a connecting mechanism capable of maintaining the stable connection without using refractive index adjusting agent. SOLUTION: The optical connector 60 includes: a connector main body 10 having a ferrule 1 with a connection optical fiber 6 packed therein, and the connecting mechanism 2 for abut-connecting the trailing end part of the connection optical fiber 6 and the leading end part 13a of an optical fiber 13; and an anchoring mechanism 50 for anchoring the optical fiber 13 in the connector main body 10 in a state where the optical fiber 13 is energized toward the connection optical fiber 6. The connecting mechanism 2 includes an outer cylindrical body 7 to which the trailing end of the ferrule 1 is inserted, and first and second capillaries 8 and 9 disposed in the outer cylindrical body 7. The second capillary 9 includes a guide hole 9a for guiding the optical fiber 13 to the optical fiber centering hole 8a of the first capillary 8 and storing the jacket 13b of the optical fiber 13.
