PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method capable of easily obtaining coaxiality with a simple constitution upon the production of a cylindrical component from a columnar stock, and to provide a die for drilling used therein. SOLUTION: The edge faces of a columnar stock with a prescribed length and the periphery of the edge part are straightened, and a shallow hole part is press-fitted into the central part of the straightened edge face, so as to be a cylindrical blank. Drilling is performed to a prescribed depth in the cylindrical blank by a die for drilling provided with a pin for drilling. The die for drilling used at this time is composed of: a pin holder provided with a plurality of through-holes for the insertion/removal of knock out pins; a pin for drilling inserted into the pin holder with a prescribed length projected; and a case into which the pin holder inserted with the pin for drilling is press-fitted. The pin holder is reduced by compressive force when the pin holder is press-fitted into the case, the pin for drilling inserted into the pin holder is tightened by the reduction, and the drilling pin is tightened and fixed to the pin holder by the tightening force.
