PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling insect pests, capable of keeping the desired control effects to be a low concentration (low chemical evaporation rate), by setting the air flow rate per unit time, the chemical dissipation rate per unit time and the product of the air flow rate and the chemical dissipation rate, to be at respective specified levels. SOLUTION: The method for controlling insect pest is characterized by the air flow rate per unit time of 360-1,800 L, the chemical dissipation rate per unit time of 0.02-0.1 mg, and the product of the air flow rate and the chemical dissipation rate of 18-180.
