<p>A device to be fitted to an automobile wheel in order to increase friction between the wheel and the road surface during winter conditions is made substantially from textile material and comprises a belt (12) to encircle the tread of the wheel and be held in place by outer and inner side portions (13, 15), the inner side portion (15) having an elastic member (16). The belt (12) of the device is made from a band (7) of textile material provided with stripes (6) of abrasive material set in a matrix of a binding agent adhering firmly to the band material.</p> |
