The invention relates to a method, an arrangement, a system, and a software means for secure data transmission between an input device connected to a network computer and a network receiver, which is connected to the network computer via a data network. According to the idea of the invention, the input device comprises an encrypting device, which is disposed between a reading and/or input element of the input device and an interface of the input device, the interface being used to connect the input device to the network computer. Furthermore a software means is installed on the network computer, the software means having the following functions: a) receiving the encrypted data of the input device, b) converting the encrypted data in a network protocol, and c) transmitting the encrypted data to the network receiver.
