<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which brings about a reduced amount of heat generation, and attains low-noise and small size, and can capture a high resolution image. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device equipped with a liquid crystal display panel 2, an image pick-up part 4 having an image-forming optical system and a solid state imaging device, and a backlight device 5 is used. The backlight device 5 is equipped with a light source 8 and an optical layer 6. The optical layer 6 has an opening section 9 arranged thereon. The image pick-up part 4 is arranged inside the backlight device 5 so as to make light having been incident on the liquid crystal display panel 2 from the observer's side and having passed therethrough, incident on the image-forming optical system via the opening section 9. The image pick-up part 4 images the observer's side state of the liquid crystal display panel 2 by receiving light incident on the image-forming optical system with the solid state imaging device. The opening section 9 is formed in such a way that its shape of opening is similar to that of a light receiving area of the solid state imaging device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
