<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ferrule holder capable of improving workability of fusion splicing by facilitating handling of the ferrule, when fusion-splicing another optical fiber to an optical fiber which is attached to the ferrule, in advance. <P>SOLUTION: The ferrule holder 20 is installed by holding the ferrule in which the other end of an optical fiber having one end insertion mounted thereto is extended backward by a prescribed length to position the ferrule on a holder table of a fusion splicing machine. The ferrule holder includes a substrate 21 in which a V groove 21c for arranging a tubular part adjacent to a flange part of the ferrule and a recessed part 21b for arranging the flange part are formed and in which a magnet 22 is provided; and a lid 23 which is attached to the substrate so as to be freely openable, and which is attracted to the substrate by magnetic force of the magnet and holds the ferrule between the lid and the substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
