<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily assembled, compact and inexpensive optical scanner which employs an open polygon chamber in order to avoid a problem due to heat and nonetheless can reduce wind whistle resulting in low noise and also can reduce the contamination of a polygon mirror. <P>SOLUTION: The optical scanner 1 is provided with: a polygon scanner 100 having the rotating polygon mirror 111 which deflects a laser beam emitted form a light source 101; imaging optics 113 and 121 which focuses the deflected laser beam on a predetermined position on an image carrier; and an optical housing 9 which supports the light source, the polygon scanner and the imaging optics, wherein on a rid 13 which covers the upper opening part 9a of the optical housing 9, a non-rotating circular cylindrical shielding member 201 is provided so as to cover the upper part of the polygon scanner. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
