<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate noncoincidence in reading magnification between the front face and the rear face of an original in an image reader for reading images on the both faces of the original by two image reading means while carrying the original in one direction. <P>SOLUTION: The image reader is provided with: a first reading means 111 for reading an image on one face of the original while carrying the original; a second reading means 112 for reading an image on the other face of the original in parallel with the first reading means; a calculating means 101 for calculating the reading magnification from an original size read by the first reading means and an original size read by the second reading means and for calculating a variable power coefficient for eliminating difference in reading magnifications; and variable power processing means 161 and 162 for applying variable power processing by the variable power coefficient to one of image data read by the first reading means or image data obtained by the second reading means. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
