PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a commercially advantageous process for producing odorless ethers in which high conversion and high selectivity are achieved even from a low-purity and inexpensive conjugated diene compound and a purification step is further simple and compact. SOLUTION: The process for producing the ethers is carried out as follows: a telomerization reaction of the conjugated diene compound is conducted in the presence of a hydroxy compound represented by R<SP>1</SP>OH (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>represents an alkyl group which may have a substituent or an aryl group which may have a substituent). In the telomerization reaction, the reaction is initially carried out in the presence of a palladium compound, a tertiary isocyanide compound represented by R<SP>3</SP>NC (wherein, R<SP>3</SP>represents a tertiary alkyl group which may have a substituent) and a basic substance and tris(4-methoxyphenyl)phosphine is then added to subsequently conduct the reaction.
