PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicine which is useful for preventing or treating various diseases or symptoms, such as pain, related to opioid receptors. SOLUTION: This 4a,9a-cross-linked hexahydro-1H-indenopyridine derivative represented by the formula, such as [2-methyl-2,3,4,4a,9,9a-hexahydro-4a,9a-(tetramethylen-2-oxo)-1H-indeno[2,1-c]pyridin-6-ol], and its pharmacologically acceptable acid adduct.
