<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reflection type polarizer having high optical characteristics (high transmittance, high reflectance, high degree of polarization and high light utilization efficiency), a polarizer light weight and having excellent handleability, a method of manufacturing the same and a liquid crystal display device developing high brightness improving effect using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The reflection type polarizer has a resin made base material, a surface layer formed at least on one surface of the base material and containing an inorganic material as a main component and a plurality of linear metallic layers formed with a certain spacing on the surface of the base material on which the surface layer is provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
