PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording device capable of reducing meandering of a transporting belt and enabling clogging preventing discharge without deteriorating the recording quality and recording speed. SOLUTION: The ink-jet recording device 1 carries out recording by discharging ink droplets from nozzles onto a recording surface PP which is the opposite surface of a transporting surface of a recording medium P placed and transported on the transporting belt V. The ink-jet recording device 1 has fixed heads HD1 to HD5 provided to face the recording surface PP and having recording regions formed by arranging the plurality of nozzles in the direction intersecting with the transporting direction of the recording medium P. In the transporting belt V, openings for the clogging preventing discharge facing the fixed heads HD1 to HD5 at predetermined timing during one cycle of the transporting belt V are formed symmetrically about the center line of the width direction that is intersecting with the transporting direction of the transporting belt V.
