PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a setting method of a drive signal which can form a uniform film layer by suppressing variation in liquid droplet ejection amount caused by an ejection characteristic of each nozzle in a liquid droplet ejection head, and to provide a driving method of a liquid droplet ejector. SOLUTION: The setting method of the drive signal includes the first process of making liquid droplets ejected from the nozzle corresponding to each driving element by impressing a predetermined reference driving voltage to each driving element, the second process of measuring a liquid droplet ejection amount of each nozzle, the third process of assigning any of a plurality of kinds of drive signals for each nozzle, the fourth process of determining a voltage value of the drive signal so that the liquid droplet ejection amount of the nozzles to which the drive signal of the same kind is assigned approaches a predetermined proper amount, the fifth process of setting drive signal selection data which shows a corresponding relationship of each nozzle with the kind of the drive signal assigned to the nozzle, and the sixth process of setting waveform data of the drive signal of each kind which has the voltage value determined in the fourth process.
