The method involves providing information about a task in a memory for operating an internal combustion engine to a unit of an engine with vehicle travel routes, site conditions, commercial numbers, power plant requirements and fuel prices. Information about service conditions of the power plant and about conditions for controlling the task are delivered. The information are provided to a computing- and control program, and a control signal is generated by the program. The signal reaches a signal screen and is provided as an actuating signal to servo units in a vehicle and a power plant. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system for operating, controlling, computing, reporting and revising an internal combustion engine (2) a device for performing an internal combustion engine, operating, controlling, computing, reporting and revising method.
