PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically select a repeater to be communicated and to normally perform communication when a plurality of repeaters simultaneously receive radiowave of a radio communication apparatus. SOLUTION: The radio communication system includes the plurality of repeaters 2A, 2C connected via a network and slave units 3A, 3D which perform communication via the repeaters. The repeater 2A transmits an inquiry packet for inquiring about a repeater to which the slave unit 3D at a call destination belongs when a call of the slave unit 3A is received. The inquiry packet includes a call origin ID which is information for identifying the slave unit 3A which originates the call. The server 1 is provided with a time count means for counting predetermined time T1 when a first inquiry packet is received and a response means for transmitting a response to the first inquiry packet. When a second inquiry packet having the same call origin ID as that of the first inquiry packet is received while the time T1 passes, the server 1 does not transmit the response to the second inquiry packet.
